Word/Worship Ministries

For the people of OLM to have enthusiasm for their encounter with Christ both in sacraments and everyday life. We will develop this joy through instruction in our beliefs and practices, and reflection on their meaning. This will be reflected in and lead from their participation in worship, service, stewardship, and the social life of the community. Through our Liturgical and Prayer ministries, meet the needs of the OLM faith community, and express the liturgical seasons and mission of the Church. Click on a ministry below for more information.

R.C.I.A. stands for the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults, and is the process by which new members (baptized in another denomination or unbaptized) are brought into the Catholic Church. Parishioners are needed to "sponsor" people as they go through this process, which takes one to two years. Team members are also needed as instructors in Catholic belief. John Tobin directs the RCIA process at Our Lady of the Mount. If you are a parishioner interested in helping with this ministry, or if you are a person who is interested in becoming Catholic, contact John Tobin at (732) 968-0124 or by email at tobin_jp@hotmail.com.

All parishioners share the task of music ministry by their participation in the acclamations and hymns of the liturgy. Some also step forward to share their love of music through participation in a choir. Learn about the many ways that you could serve God and our parish through the music ministry by calling Wayne Dietterick, Director at 908-647-1075 x110.

Grow with CLOW - Children's Liturgy of the Word. This liturgical programmeets Twice a month, typically the first and second week of the month, to help the younger children of our community understand mass, especially the Gospel. The children are practicing the same mass that is going on upstairs but the more complicated concepts are defined and the Gospel is explained in a child's terms. Related handouts and religious guides are included in the program. Attending CLOW helps prepare the children for the remaining two masses during the month. CLOW is open to all children attending the 10:00 mass and free of charge. Children ages 3-13 typically attend - the older children help assist the leaders and younger children. Parents are always invited to attend with their children. If you would like to volunteer please contact Jennifer Allen-Nuzzi through Fran in the main office.
