John M. Scansaroli (Deacon Candidate)
Deacon Candidate John was accepted into the permanent diaconate formation and academic program in May 2008 with his anticipated ordination in the spring of 2012. The Diocesan’s Diaconate Office recently assigned him to serve at Our Lady of the Mount. John was born in Brooklyn and raised in Queens, New York. After various corporate assignments, he and his family settled in New Jersey moving to Bridgewater in 1984, where they became active members in St. James parish in Basking Ridge. A graduate of Rutgers College, John studied business and chemical engineering. In 1973 he earned an MBA from New York University in finance and received another post-graduate degree in accounting from the same institution. Following his assignment in 1986 as Director of Corporate Planning & New Business for Engelhard Corporation in Edison, New Jersey, John established a privately owned company located in Warren, to purchase, own and operate several businesses in the chemical industry. At that time Our Lady of the Mount became John’s daily parish. With his concentration on the diaconate program and future plans to serve the church, John has been focusing on selling off his principle holdings. Deacon Candidate John and his wife, Cathleen, have been married for 37 years. In college Cathy studied for her Bachelor of Business Administration on Long Island. She operates an Event and Wedding planning business in Warren. The Scansaroli’s also serve our Lord by serving on the Board of Directors for the Pastoral and Matrimonial Renewal Center. The Scansaroli’s have been blessed with three sons (Steven, Daniel and Robert) and two beautiful granddaughters, Anastasia and Veronica. For the past several years, John and Cathy have been active in marriage ministry, offering marriage enrichment weekends (Living In Love) throughout the dioceses and providing marriage preparation (Preparing to Live In Love) for engaged couples planning to wed at Our Lady of the Mount and other parishes in our Diocese. |
